The Garden

‘A garden suggests that there might be somewhere where we can meet nature halfway...’
Picture
The garden is a constantly changing landscape. I like to think of it as a ‘yes’ place - there always seems room to experiment and to learn without disrupting the balance of what has been here for centuries
This year we had our second full year of the newly designed kitchen garden (many lessons learnt - and no doubt, many still to come!) and again left the meadow long in parts to encourage butterflies and bees - the buzz and flutter of wings on a warm day is magical. Last year I indulged my passions for all things vintage and for small spaces - and acquired a 1969 sprite caravan.  During lockdown, we sited the caravan on the edge of the poplar wood and my daughter in law reinvented it as  'poppeltrad', (poplar wood in swedish!), a cafe, a bar, a bolt hole for being alone and even a nail bar when things got rough!  It's still there ...
Nothing ever stands still, and even in the depth of winter there is something to fortify, inspire and delight.
